We had to have the A/C completely replaced, have taken it back 5 times. The shop replaced the whole system again. The former employee did not flush the system. The clutch is working, the relays are working, but have not checked on my own. I have watched several you tube videos.
Does anyone have any ideas?
why 53F?!? there is a physical/thermodynamic limit to heat exchange depending on exchange environment, the hotter the harder to exchange
I am the computer tech person husband is the mechanic. I was wrong. It is 96° outside, air should have been coming out at 48°. The lowest it got was 53°, the highest 60° when stopped at stop light. Our 2007 Honda Accord temperature comes out between 37 and 40°. That is what the Civic used to work at. Thank you for your help@
civic is a small engine compared to accord.
with engine in idle, AC does not cool much.
Does the air get cooler if the engine is revved higher RPM? say, 3k RPM?
If so, it's normal
Here's a link to the A/C performance test for the 8th gen Civic, don't know what you have. It does specify some conditions that must be met during the test (hood open, doors open, engine speed above 1500, etc).
Output temp is also based on humidity level. The higher the humidity, the higher the output temp. Using 96F intake temp, the output temp should be between ~57-75F.
sorry, i was thinking about the cars that have a AC control with specified cabin temp display, not the air temp at the vents (traveling engineer with lots of rental cars in life...)
Living in Sunny South Florida, I'm lucky if my 08 EX Cpe. AC can get down to 70 coming out of the vents most days. At 53 I'd have to move further South.
