Hi there!

I have a Honda Civic d16y7 turbo. i just swapped this blok and turbo in and i have 1 problem.
it runs and drives almost great. but just between 2k and 3k rpm the turbo start spooling and blowing but there is no power at all. When it reaches 3k rpm then it takes off.
When the care is cold it won't do this. but then it's not using boost because the engine is cold i think. somebody have an idea? i was thinking on a boost leak but is this a symptom of a boost leak?? (it's my first Turbo engine)
ohh yeah and if i'm flooring it on 1800 rpm the turbo starts spooling and blowing and the car accelerates slow again but when it reaches 2200 rpm the turbo starts sputtering and when you let of the gass and press it again then it goes over the 2200k rpm.
it only sputters at 2200rpm when i'm flooring it. if i don't floor it it just accelerates slow till 3k rpm.

What size turbo is on it? If it's on the bigger size that little 1.6L is going to take a little longer to spool the turbo up.

Best way to test a boost leak is to make a boost leak tester.

Is boost staying steady through the RPM range?
