turbo or supercharger ???????????
turbo or supercharger ???????????
im already running t4 at 15 lbs booost with kick in at 5200 rpm car has no timing running off base map all sensors are removed but i am look for the off the line power car has b18 on ls bottem everything under the sun done to in will supercharged give me that quick power rather than long run. or should get vtech to kick in around lets say 3000 to 3200 and give time for turbo to wind up.
Re: turbo or supercharger ???????????
ok superchargers are good for constant boost, only thing i dont like about them is if its belt driven or electrical which most are, they require alot of maintenance. They have almost no lag at all, but you can only boost as much as your engine can turn. With a turbo you can accumulate more boost yet you have a lag under 4-5k generally. So either way its win lose man. honestly if you tune for your vtak to kick in at a lower rpm it will be quick as hell, but you will literally get about 10-15mpg....no joke......that is if you drive like i do lol.
Re: turbo or supercharger ???????????
im not pretending to be a guru or anything on turbos or superchargers, but what goose said makes total sense, considering you never see (at least i havent) turbos on muscle cars like mustangs because they have so much torque which (correct me if im wrong) lends to a supercharger being way more effective on them. conversely, a turbo would be more effective for our little 4-cylinders
