engine swap 2.4L
I have a 1982 civic shell and my plan is to put a ford ranger 4cly 2.3L... I have the transmission for it but I don't even have a clue for my full plans on making this work... if you have any ideas that I need on my radar for me it would be much appreciated!

Re: engine swap 2.4L
same as any engine transplant.
Measure twice, cut once.
Measure twice, cut once.
- If the shell still have transmission, If engine does not mount to transmission, difficult levels spike.
- Fit to trans?
- use the ford trans and figure out how to fit to the front wheels If ford trans is for rear wheel drive, you will need to find another.
- Figure out if engine fits. Cut or weld around engine bay to assemble engine. This includes if the hood will close or not. and if you can use the sub-frame or if you will need to fabricate one.
- find engine/trans mounts that work or fabricate your own.
- if engine was longitudinal, need to figure out what to use as intake, exhaust
- figure out if Ford ECU will work, but do not expect it to work with anything other than engine
- etc, etc, etc
