Engine Swap
Does anybody know how much it would be to swap for these engines:
1) k20a3(Si Engine)
2) k20a2 (RSX type s engine)
3) k20a (Type R engine)
I want to get a swap for my 02 civic.

Hey bud...there are some informative threads on the forums that you could search for...these would provide a good base for your k-motor swap qs....
My general opinion would be to directly swap in a k20a2....if you're going to invest in the swap, do it right from the start! :]

Does this seem to be the general opinion? I've heard a lot of different things.
As far as prices on swaps, I was wondering that myself.
If its more economical to swap a K20 vs. a K20a2.
K20a2 gonna be cheaper all the way, easy to find, lot of pieces in the future...more than a k20 JDM. Its also less trouble about the coded key. You can have the RSX-S key and run without reprogram your ecu or without get a K-PRO. I know K-PRO is the BEST update for K engine but...a lot expensive. This is the reason why I swap a k20a2 not a k20a. Also if you planing to boost it, k20a2 have less compression so this gonna be easier.
Just get the type s because the type r is probably like 1 grand more for 20 hp also the si engine you will just want more in the end so you might as well get the type s and then fix it up

In detroit, it's about $900 for the labor. For the engine/trans/ecu, i'd suggest going on car-parts.com, buy it from a salvage yard. it'll run you a lot cheaper. After the summer, I plan on a K20a2 with install $4000. If I install it myself with my friend, which will proly be a bitch of work, It'll run me $3100 for the K20a2.
