No AC [solved]
No AC [solved]
Hey gang,
I bought an 2001 ex coupe- manual, for pretty cheap. Looks like they bypassed the ac with a shorter belt- which after reviewing is pretty common as there seems to be a few issues with this gen's going bad. I was contemplating putting a new system in as the shop said 1600 for it and flushing the lines. the question- does not having the AC or ac belt on there affect the heat in the car, or anything else for that matter? If not, I just may leave it off and drive it at night in the summer.
Live in Tucson, AZ..
I noticed using the defroster the other day that the AC light came on, which was new to me, but again appears to be how these cars work. Is it really trying to turn on the ac for defrosting, or is it a short? I appreciate the help and look forward to posting pics of the final project!

re: No AC [solved]
It tries to turn on the ac to help pull moisture out.it would be worth looking in to the ac. I've seen cars that had it bypassed for a very simple fix.
