This is going to sound really odd, but it cleared up that squeaking noise when pushing in, and letting out the clutch.

I've never messed with the fusebox, but while cleaning my car I decided to pop it off and see what was in there [IMG]i/expressions/face-icon-small-tongue.gif[/IMG]
Anywho, I undid the clip and took out the panel. When I removed it, the piece below it popped off as well. Not the whole plate, but just the one side of it. Reason being that the twisty-clip holding it in place was never fastened. I'm thinking the dealer must have been in there and someone undid that clip by accident when removing the fusebox panel.

Anywho, back to the fix.

It took some real prying and forcing but I got the bottom plate to finally go back to its "original" position, so that I could clamp it back in. I noticed that when it wasn't clamped in it would hang down right next to the arm of the clutch. Not noticable with the human eye UNLESS you take off the fusebox and grab a flashlight. After clipping the plate back in, I have yet to have my clutch squeak.

I'm pretty sure most other people's clutch squeeks are a bit more complicated than just a loose panel. I actually got mine fixed also, without taking it into the dealer. My uncle (a Mazda mechanic) lubed some of the clutch's moving parts, and the squeeking disappeared. That moving part was actually down low in front of the engine. If you have somebody pressing the clutch for you, you will be able to see some parts of the mechanism moving... some of those parts just have to be greased properly, and the squeeking will disappear.

There are two squeaks. I was having the "plastic on metal" squeak and it took me forever to figure out. Just by looking under there you couldn't see that the panel was rubbing up next to it. I know that there is a "clicking" problem, but all of the squeaking problems I've heard of are this "plastic on metal" sound.

hehe mine was the master cylinder, =) I took the car in , told them that my friend had the same problem ( refering to 2k1civic.com ) and no questions ask replaced it =)

I may not be the best mechanic but aren't most fuse boxes located on the passenger side? I don't have a fuse box located near my clutch. I might have to go back out and look again in the light but I don't see what you are talking about Sparty. Is this for Civics? or Acura? Any help? Thanks

Ya, the fuse box is in the engine compartment on the passenger side, near the battery. I think he's talking about something completely different here..... and mistakenly referred to it as the "fuse box".
