Putting all new AC parts on my 2001 civic. The “kit” comes with a bottle(237ml) of PAG 46 oil. The paper with the compressor says to drain oil that came in compressor out and add proper amount. It doesn’t say what the proper amount is or where to add it. Do I put a little in the compressor (sticker on it said it had 120ml in it) a little in the condensor and so in? PLEASE help
First off, I've never had to replace the A/C compressor before so my reply is based solely on the information from the service manual. Here is what it says:
So, let's say you drain 80 ml from the old compressor, this would mean you should drain 50 ml from the new compressor before installing (130-80=50). This would leave 70 ml in the compressor if it is filled to 120 ml right now (120-50=70). If you then need to completely replace the oil in it you would drain it and put 70 ml back in.
