Belt squeaks when ac is on
Belt squeaks when ac is on
I have an 05 civic 1.7l I changed my timing belt and my ac belt and power steering belt has been changed. When I turn my ac on and put some gas it squeals I don't m le whether I need to tighten my belt or loosen it and how do you do that with all those things in the way?

Re: Belt squeaks when ac is on
If it squeals then it's too loose. Tighten it (alt + AC belt). Many aftermarket belts stretch and need readjustment shortly after installation.
Re: Belt squeaks when ac is on
While you're in there take the belt off and give the alternator a spin and the compressor too. The pulley is free unless the a/c is on, ie car off pulley should be free. The center part is connected to the compressor. Turn all three and make sure there isn't something tight making the belt squeal. But like ezone says, most likely the belt is just loose.
