i got a 2004 civic si, i want to replace the ac expansion valve, but wasn't sure where it located in the vehicle. also need some advice when replacing it from experts.

It's just a big batch of bolts and screws (8mm, 10mm, Phillips head) but it takes a while. Do you like Legos or crossword puzzles? Glove box, blower motor, blower motor housing (2 pieces or 1... have fun) and a cover. There's a 10mm bolt inside the engine bay; if you pull with about the same amount of force it takes to open a door that sticks, it'll pop. If you'd help someone move and crawl under a sink, it's not a big deal. Otherwise forget it.

Don’t see a lot of those being a issue, unless the ac compressor shredded itself to pieces and contaminated the entire ac system with microscopic metal dust.

I hate working under the dash.

I am in the middle of replacing the expansion valve and evaporator. This is after removing the blower unit and ECM/PCM.
