Hey there , this thread is for Canadian civic owners and its a real puzzle . I recently replaced the engine in my 03 civic si and everything went great on the install until I tried to start the car . After connecting the battery I attempted to start the engine , it turned over great but wouldnt fire so I proceeded to check for spark and fuel . After confirming I had both I attempted to again to start the car but had no success as it would turn over but not fire . Now comes the strange part , thinking I might have a bad sensor or some other issue I connected a basic OBD reader and surprisingly the car fired right up however my speedo was behaving as a tach and was moving according to RPM change I shut the car down and started checking all my harness connections but found nothing . I then got back in the car and started it again however when I reached down and unplugged the reader the car stalled and would not refire but as soon as I plugged the reader back in the car fired right up the speedo was still bouncing around like crazy . Has anyone out ever had this happen to them before or does anyone have a suggestion or 2 as to what I might look at to fix this problem any help would be greatly appreciated
