Civic 2001 D16v1 no start when cold
Civic 2001 D16v1 no start when cold
First of all i would like to say hi to everyone here!
i have a civic 01, d16v1 the problem is that it wont start when cold -1C is enough
it cranks but wont start
i did check fuel pressure ist 3BAR
i have spark on all 4 cylinders
replaced:
fuel pump
fuel rail and injectors
cam and crank sensors
air intake sensor
coolant temp sensor (top one)
spark plugs
coils
i cleaned grounds
cleaned EGR valve
checked voltage drops on alternater and on engine block is 0.32V in peak
i have tried with new battiery with starter nothing...
for sure its no timing belt as it drives and accelarates fine
oil is 10w40 but in a -2C i doubt thats even matter
car start just fine when its 0C outside and above ofc
i even took ECU at home to keep it warm
still no luck i am not able to start her. its going on for over two years and only in winter
few days ago after replacing injectors i have removed camshaft sensor and she started for a brief moment it was -8C and i was able to repeat that few times
it seems that when cold spark and fuel are just not in the good time...
when i crank few times sparks are all fuel wet. i even try to warm sparks with flamegun. no luck only trick is with cam sensor (not OE)
does one have any idea what i could check ?

Re: Civic 2001 D16v1 no start when cold
Typically spark plugs will be coated in fuel because of leaky injectors. I would verify that they were properly installed.
Aftermarket sensors won't help, either.

Re: Civic 2001 D16v1 no start when cold
I have 99.9% the same symptoms, mine also starts after removing the coolant temp sensor.
I'm sure it is one of the sensors but still can't tell which one.
The service can't find the problem too because after the first start it starts with no problem.
