Cranks but wont start
Cranks but wont start
So my car has been idle for 2 years. When i turn the ignition i dont hear the fuel pump prime the engine turns over but wont start. I checked fuel pump and found a rats nest also check the computer for problems and none come up. Im not sure if the computer would detect a messed up wire or not but does anyone have any ideas? Please help

Re: Cranks but wont start
Post pics please. Most likely a break in the fuel pump wiring.
With some vehicles (manufacturers) the fuel pump can be directly tested with a 9v battery and alligator clips after disconnecting the harness connection at the pump itself. I haven't tried that on the Civics I've owned though because they never had a fuel pump issue.

This is the fuel pump
So this is in the engine bay online it shows a box below it but its not there i guess it wasnt a civic si
This is under the dash
Thats behind the glove box online says there are sensors and stuff for the fuel pump injectors ect i dont see it is it behind the metal casing?
The dash lights after i disconnected the fuel pump when hooked up yellow light by fuel guage isnt there
Re: Cranks but wont start
Yeah there is a green key when i turn it on but goes off pretty fast. Then i tested at the plug after disconnecting the plug no power on the plug is it possible that its one of the sensors?
Re: Cranks but wont start
That's good, it means the immobilizer is not preventing the fuel pump from running. Should be a fuel pump fuse in the under-dash fuse box, check it. You can also measure voltage in the fuel pump connector (during the initial two second prime or while cranking), you should see battery voltage across the yellow/green and black wires.
