I have been having issues with my 01 Honda civic lx 1.7l car. Everytime I pump gas and I try to start my car it starts but dies right away, I turn it off and try to start it again doesn't want to start it cranks the only way I get it started is if I crank it for a couple second and push the gas so the engine revs up I know u shouldn't do that because it could flood the motor but that's the only way my car would start. I can hear the fuel pump working, no gas smell so I don't know any suggestions?

Something wrong with the evap system. Are you continuing to pump gas after it clicks off?

Is the check engine light on? What codes does it have stored in the computer? (I'm lazy. I like to troubleshoot from the comfort of the drivers seat as much as possible before actually opening the hood)

If I have to risk getting dirty....The symptoms described make me want to test the purge control solenoid first, I'd suspect it had stuck open

I changed out the evap purge not the canister and the gas doesn't click

Did you use an OEM Honda part? In most cases, this matters for trouble-free operation.

Yes I did I didn't have this problem before it started to do this like I thing 2 yrs now and couldn't figure out what was cause the problem asked around n everybody had different suggestions n try ed most but still happening so I just found a way to mange around it but I shouldn't have too
