Transmission Issue
Hello to all of you.
New to the forum, New to Honda and I have a trans question myself.
Quick backstory- I was given a 2001 4 door Civic LX because the trans was shot (according to the owner per the trans shop he had it towed to). Anyway me being me said I would take it for free and he obliged.
Checked the trans and had ZERO (0) fluid in it so i put in 3 quarts and for the most part it shifts well, except going into 2nd and 3rd....it slips in a bit. The check engine is throwing a PO730 code.
Big surprise is that the car was built in Japan and sold in North America so supposedly not assembled in Canada, Mexico, or any other Honda facility in North
America.
My question is this (and my local Honda dealership had no clue) can I replace the JDM 3 speed trans with a NADM (North America Domestic Motors) 4 speed? Does anyone know? What obstacles would I be facing? Or should I pay the $155,488.50 Yen for a used JDM 3 speed transmission?

Also, from my experience JDM transmissions are always cheaper unless your talking high performance models. Plus they usually have lower mileage because they only allow so many miles on a car in Japan. Though, I have not bought any since 2020 so with inflation being what it is...
This is a electrical thread, you'd probably be better off posting in transmissions.
