So I recently got my hands on a 98 civic hatch DC with a d16y8 swap. It also was swapped from auto to manual Lsd trans. Well I was taking my friend home in it and everything was perfectly fine pulled up to a red light pushed the clutch in looked at my friend told him that the car was stuck in 5th gear. He pushed me out the road and we got it out of 5th finaly but I lost every gear but 3rd gear, my dad said I have 5th also but when I drove it back home in 3rd gear only I tried to shift into other gears but nothing(didnt want to pay tow bill). The shifter is acting like something is in the way and that it is stuck, it doesnt want to attempt to go in any other gears at all just 3rd. I need help with what the problem is. I want to say the trans went but it showed no signs at all that anything was going to go wrong worked perfectly fine until I came to a stop at a red light. I jacked the car up on ramps right now to look at shift linkage but doesnt seem like anything is wrong with it. When the rains stop I was gonna put it on jack stands and was gonna start the process of pulling the trans but if it is something different then please help me out!

This is why you never buy someone else's headache.
slave may have failed, pressure plate/clutch may have failed, the shift linkage inside the trans may have broken.
-shifter assembly
-rods and ball joint under shifter (that one is shift rods right, not cable)
-bushings at transmission connection
-all engine/torque/transmission mounts.
-make sure clutch slave moves all the way/no air bubbles in lines.
......
If those are good pull the transmission out, and look at the internals; shift forks good? Synchros good?
So dropped my trans and out of the other 2 trans I know is good I wanna say my problem is the input shaft inside the trans cause it doesnt move at all but the other ones does.
