98 Civic EX gear shift light not working

98 Civic EX gear shift light not working
Hello ! i have a used 98 civic EX from here in the untied states, and the gear shift light indicator does not come on. i ordered #74 LED replacement bulbs, but the 6 i have tried do not work. am i using the wrong bulb ? all of the other interior lights along with the car are functioning, so i’m not sure if it is some other mechanical error.

does anyone know what kind of bulb my car takes ?



left : bulb that was already inside , right : replacement led bulb

Did you check for power + ground at the connector?

With a voltmeter. LEDs are also directional, meaning they will only work one way. Did you try swapping the LED around?

i did , i tried about half of the LEDs i got in both ways
