Gear Shift Light Bulb Replacement--Which Bulb Number?

I have a 2005 Civic LX. I am replacing the gear shift light bulb. I have searched the forum for the replacement bub number and the majority of the responses say #74. I tried this bub and it won't fit. Is this the correct bulb? Has anyone else had this same problem? Is there a different bulb number that fits? Thanks!

Take your old bulb into the parts store and match one up?

I bet a Honda dealer can get the right bulb on the first try. Look it up in the catalog by VIN#.
