i was having issues with car overheating, thought something was wrong with thermostat so i took it off completely since i cant replace it yet, tested the thermostat in boiling water it seems to open up just fine but still decided not to install it back and change it with new one soon.

currently running without thermostat overheating seems to be fixed but now i am seeing steam from overflow reservoir, car does not show any signs of overheating, gouge seems to work just fine stays at the normal temperature but whenever i drive for 30 min and pull over i see white steam coming from an overflow reservoir.

car is completely stock,
radiator fan seems to be working it turns on for couple of seconds and then shuts off.

what could be the issue please helpppp!!!

If the reservoir level keeps getting higher while the radiator level gets lower, it's a bad headgasket.

I took it to the mechanic and he told me that its most probably water pump because some of the hoses are way hotter then others, so pump probably failed.
he also told me that if its not a pump then it has to be HG.

what do you guys think?

do that test in the video, show it to mechanic.
easy to do and will tell you if gasket or not.that way, you can write gasket off the check list and move to other potential causes.

I have never seen a failed water pump on any of the Honda's I've worked on.

thank you so much for help i will definitely show it to him, i think its water pump to because, there was a sudden storm in my country and i did not have coolant, so when i started the car it struggled then i heard like clanking sound and then it started so it could be a pump.

Have the mechanic perform the head gasket test that was shown, or do it yourself. It costs basically nothing. There's no reason to waste money on a water pump if the head gasket needs replaced.
