Motor change

So I have to change the motor in my 98 civic it has a D15B VTEC in it. But at this time I do not have access to that exact one. So my question is what motor would work best? With less mods I would have to do with any of these ones. I have a D16Y7 NONE VTEC, D15B7 NONE VTEC, B20B NONE VTEC? Any info would be helpful. Thanks in advance.

Re: Motor change

ECU will be looking for a VTEC, if you put a non-VTEC it will trigger an engine code
drop in is a VTEC D-series engine, forget the B20

Re: Motor change

you car have an ECU for VTEC. If it does not find a VTEC, it will throw an engine code.
B-series will require even more work

Re: Motor change

Yah I don't have access to one with vtec. So all I need to do is change the VTEC ECU with the none VTEC ECU and it will work? Sorry for sounding like a total dumb a**! . I'm just not so good when it comes to the electronics/computer stuff. Thank u for patience with me.

Re: Motor change

The better option is to buy the correct engine. Sellers will offer shipping dropped off at your house.
