Trying to figure compatibility out with the head on my 2000 Civic 1.6 l Y8
I recently damaged my camshaft replacing the oil seal behind the distributor. I wasn't aware until after I ordered the part off of eBay that it may not be the same as what came out of the car. I ordered a camshaft from an eBay seller and it was close to the one that I removed from my vehicle. Some of the lobes on the camshaft were a little bit different though. It did run just fine with the new camshaft in the vehicle, however did have a new tick going on. I research and watch a few videos on how to do a valve adjustment and did such adjustments to the head unit. My question I guess is now that I've done the valve adjustment on the head am I okay to turn the car over and see if it's running correctly without the tick?

As long as everything is adjusted properly than you should be fine

Thank you for the reply. This is the video I watched to adjust the valves. Would you mind checking it out and letting me know if it is accurate?

That's accurate. They luckily don't use shims so it's an idiot simple job.
I would worry too much about the sequence; set cyl 1 to TDC, and whichever valves are sticking up are the ones you do. On my old Honda's, I'd just tap the starter until the rest of them eventually lined up. Perhaps an unconventional way but it worked beautifully.
