1300k on a rebuild, blowing smoke at high rpms
1300k on a rebuild, blowing smoke at high rpms
I've got a 97 civic coupe, d16y8. I did a rebuild on the bottom end, bearings, rings, etc. Haven't had any problems until today. Got off the freeway just fine, started to get into high rpms and noticed a whitish, bluish smoke. No overheating, no.coolant in the oil, no rough idle or loss of power. There is oil residue on the inside of the tail pipe tho. Doesn't smoke at idle. Coolant temp sensor is bad, replacing that today. Any ideas???

Rings or valves. If you did the bottom end correctly then it should be the valves. You can rent a leakdown tester and check. Or rent a compression tester and check using that.
