Weird Bubbles from Radiator!

Hi,

I'm brand new here!

Recently took my 97 civic DX 1.6 Sohc on a trip. Overheated just over midway on the dial. Found out that cooling fan wasn't working, fixed fan with new ECT sensor and replaced thermostat, seems to have solved the problem. After Thermostat replacement, I burped the cooling system. But continual bubbles come up, about once every minute. Tried to bleed for 2.5 hours!!!!

"Head Gasket!" I hear you shout, but I tested that with a Block Tester today, liquid stays blue, thus indicating that there is no combustion gas in the coolant.

Driving it, feels as normal as it has ever been. No power loss, feels smooth. No loss of coolant.

Anyone have any ideas?

Thanks in advance!

Re: Weird Bubbles from Radiator!

I got access to compressor, I just don't know if I need some special valve that screws into the spark plug hole? Seems like he screws it in, in the video.

Compression tester, may need a couple other fittings to adapt to the air line

Usually parts store will rent you a compression tester for free.

Re: Weird Bubbles from Radiator!

Ok, so finally got round to doing the compression, as in the youtube video, and there is a combustion leak. Thanks for the help. Really appreciate it.

Looking into getting it fixed. Does anyone know the average to mill the head?

My local machine shop charges about $100 to first check, then mill a head.

Re: Weird Bubbles from Radiator!

$!00 sounds about right. I think my local shop was 100-120ish.
