I just bought a 97 civic ex coupe and I was looking over the motor today. I found an unplugged sensor (not sure if anything is supposed to be plugged into it) anyone know what this is?

Re: HELP unknown sensor/plug
wire for a vtec pressure switch. does the engine have vtec?
nearest otherwise i thunk may be 3 sensors on the cylinder head below the distributor, and check on all around the. thermostat housing where that radiator hose attaches .
but i cant see how far it can actually reach in all possible directions from here.
id say check for the same plug on some identical cars. Usually thats a help visually but not always. and not always possible to find when you need it.
CEL? Codes? Clues
Runs perfectly? Or is it really not quite perfect.... or worse.
Something doesn't work?
is that connector tip fresh n clean like it got unplugged yesterday, or is it dirty like its been disconnected for a long time
might be unused on your engine/trans or model/trim level .
