Blue devil flush

This is a bit different from what the title would suggest.
ive got a 99 EX and we put blue devil's head gasket sealer in it. We later realized it was worse than we thought and replaced the head gasket. We've now realized some of that sealer is starting to get into my radiator and clog it up. We've run a hose through the radiator (forwards and backwards) and that worked for a bit to stop the overheating, but we didn't get everything and I'm not sure what else is in the block. I'm probably going to replace the radiator but I want to make sure everything is out of the engine itself. Is there anything I can do to get it out without having to tear apart the engine?

Re: Blue devil flush

Nope this why we never recommend using that garbage. Replace everything that coolant goes though, heater core, rad, hoses, block, etc

Re: Blue devil flush

Here are some pics of an engine I had that had stop leak used. On a 7th gen but pretty similar. I spent quite a bit of time scraping that crap out. Got a new radiator, hoses, thermostat, and water pump while replacing the head gasket.

Re: Blue devil flush

You could do a test to find a soluble solution

-since coolant is water based water wont work, but you could see if the sealant will dissolve in alcohol or acetone/paint thinner solvents.

if the sealant dissolves, only use the solvent on metal components, not the rad. Or hoses as these may deteriorate over time, as a result of contacting solvents.
