Timing
97 civic. I pulled the distributor out to repair heater hose underneath it. Put distributor back in and car won’t run unless I leave the bolts out and advance it past the slots. What could have happened?

So if you put it back in the exact same spot it was in before it won't run (assuming you marked it before removal)?

Yes it was put right back in the way it came out

Distributor only goes in one way, not sure how it’s possible
