B18C1 in an EM1... having some fueling issues.
Okay, so I just bought this '00 EM1 yesterday, with a B18C1 swap. Yes, one day ago. Drove fine the day I test drove it. Drove fine the day I bought it.
Went to leave for work this morning and it started up, but ran super, super rough and after a few seconds, died. Tried to start it again, wouldn't start unless I held the pedal to the floor. Wouldn't stay running unless I was manually giving it throttle.
Changed the spark plugs, cap/rotor, and ECTS. Didn't help, car needs throttle pressed to start, and throttle to stay running. I manually held it around 2500-3000 RPM until it started warming up, then it was fine. Idled on its own, had good throttle response, blah blah blah.
Took it for a spin around the block, and sitting at a stop light it bogged out to the point where I thought it was going to die. Pulled up the road a bit, pulled over, and all was fine again.
Minute later, I did a 2nd-3rd gear pull, and when I put the clutch in to pull onto my main road, it died. Pop started it, idled fine.
While all this is happening, there's a good bit of white smoke from the exhaust, and you can very heavily smell fuel.
To me, it seems to be flooding out. The brand new spark plugs with less than 20 miles on them are already pitch black, indicating rich fuel mixture.
Not really wanting to just throw parts at it, especially since I'm thinking the likely culprit is either the IACV (expensive) or Distributor (expensive ish).
Any ideas?

Re: B18C1 in an EM1... having some fueling issues.
Warm the car up then unplug the iacv from the connector if the idle speed doesn’t increase then replace it also check for vacuum leaks remove air duct and put your hand over the throttle body if it dies no vacuum leaks.. also inspect the distributor cap and rotor for burnt connections or really bad corrosion
Re: B18C1 in an EM1... having some fueling issues.
Could also rent a fuel pressure gauge to make sure pressure is even and strong.
-Low pressure obviously points towards pump/filter
-fluctuating pressure at a stable rpm could point towards the pump or electrical fuel related components, like a glitchy fuel relay.
........
If pressure is fine then check the ignition pulse at the injectors.
If you have pressure and pulse then it isn't fuel related and the issue is ignition based.
