1999 Civic LX radiator fan and AC issues
1999 Civic LX radiator fan and AC issues
Simply put, the radiator fan relay is connected to ignition power on a separate fuse from the blower motor because of a short. Whenever a fuse is plugged into the blower motor (fuse 17 on interior panel) the radiator fan shuts off, but all AC functions are working. I'm not familiar with any common problems with the radiator fan or blower motor fuse shorting out. I unplugged the blower motor, blower motor relay, and blower motor resistor, same issue. Cruise control also does not work. Coolant temp sensor is saturated in oil from valve cover leak, valve cover gasket was replaced. Fan switch was bypassed. I'm going to attempt to run the radiator fan off of a separate relay and see if the blower motor fuse will operate correctly. Any suggestions on how to get the radiator fan and AC system to function together again would be much appreciated.
