Need RADIATOR COOLING FAN help. Im desperate!!!
I cannot get my radiator fan to work. The things I’ve tried so far are:
Replaced the thermostat.
Replaced the cooling fan relay in the engine fuse box (when relay is jumped the fan works).
Replaced the fan switch in the thermostat housing (when switch is jumped the fan works).
Replaced the cooling fan fuse in the engine fuse box (wasnt blown in the first place though).
The condenser fan works fine when the a/c is turned on but the radiator fan never comes on.
The engine never over heats though (due to replacing the thermostat) only goes up to a 1/3 of the way.
I’ve let the engine reach full operating temp numerous times and it still won’t turn on.
I’ve jumped the original coolant temperature sensor, but the fan did not come on. And I haven’t replaced that yet.
I usually can figure this stuff out, but in this case I’m stumped.
Somebody please help me out???
Also this is on a 1995 Honda Civic LX

Sounds like the fan motor is bad. Little unclear but, you did check the fan motor right? If the fan is bad try:
craigslist
car/part.com
rockauto
ebay
I'd probably go with rockauto because they're $54 new for the whole assembly.

I dont think the motor is bad becuase it comes on fine whenever i jump the cooling fan relay or when i jump the fan switch in the thermostat housing.

Yes, they should both come on with the a/c. Only the condensor fan comes on right? I had a similar problem with my 90 integra and it was a diode under the dash, cartridge type, bu I stuck a 10 cent diode from radio shack in it and it worked fine. Don' t know if it is even there on these newer ones though. Let me access some schematics, will be back when I get some info.
Not familiar with the models and the engines etc. Don't even know if it matters on the wiring, but the 95 dx is a 1.5 non-vtec right?

Re: Need RADIATOR COOLING FAN help. Im desperate!!!
Can't find a schematic for it, don't know if the diode is there or not. It just kept ground flowing the correct direction in the fan circuit if I remember right. It was a broken contact, so the relay never got grounded. It had the power on both sides of the relay, just never could "switch" the relay. On the other side though, don't overlook the simple, the relay contacts are a "pinch" type contact in the connector is where I'm talking. Anyway, make sure they are "pinched" tightly and not spread apart where it is not contacting, you did say that when you jump the relay it comes on, so check the pins in the connector. Don't know the circuit off hand, but don't rule out the diode thing. That is exactly what mine was doing too. Worked by jumping, but the relay wouldn't switch. Mine did not come on with the a/c by the way, the only one fan that worked was the condensor fan. Was able to limp it around with the a/c on for a couple days before I had a chance to figure it out. Really only need the fans when sitting still or slow driving, stays cool when going down the road. If you don't have both and run the a/c when its hot out, it will run high head pressure on the a/c system from lack of air on the condensor and find the weak point in the system, or blow it out....

Re: Need RADIATOR COOLING FAN help. Im desperate!!!
I haven’t checked the A/C diode yet. But I’m wondering if that was bad wouldn’t it shut off both fans and not just the radiator fan?
Does anybody know where the a/c diode is located on a 95 civic LX?

Obviously don't have my Integra anymore, but am pretty sure that the condensor fan would come on, like I said though, can't a schematic to back that up.
