My 1998 Civic LX has a weird issue where any electrical input (brake lights, turn signal, hazards, ac, etc.) causes what I would assume to be a relay begin clicking. Followed by all interior lights (if on) to begin flashing with the same rhythm as the clicking from the suspected relay. Also, the dash lights do not turn on, instead they will only illuminate from previous said causes, then it will stop after about 5-10 seconds. Any information would be highly appreciated, and I apologize if something similar has been solved. I tried searching for this issue but it seems sadly unique. Cheers

re: 98 LX Model flashing interior lights [solved]
Check for melted/hacked wiring, something is touching something that it shouldn't. Also when it's acting up try to figure out what relay is clicking, might help you narrow the search for the bad wiring
I'll look into that. I did notice it looked like the previous owner has installed some sort of sound system so it's probably caused by something along those lines. I'll post an update if I find anything else out. Thanks
Well after digging around under the dash I followed the clicking back to this little black box that I believe to be an aftermarket alarm (that doesnt even work) that the previous owner installed. Upon removing the orange fuse all clicking stopped. Going to completely remove it and see how that works out.
