1998 civic dx tach doesn't work
I bought a 98 civic dx (it's a hatch) and for some reason that car's gauge cluster doesn't come with a tachometer, I have a manual and I like to listen to music (loudly) while I drive, so I don't really want to be constantly paying attention to the exhaust sound. I got a gauge cluster from another civic (with a tach gauge) and plugged it in. For a while the tach would show a reading but it would be wrong, as it would just synch up the the mph gauge. Now it doesn't work at all, I got another cluster thinking that was the problem but the tach gauge still isn't functioning. My guess it's something to do with wiring or something to do with a sensor. I would like some advice as to what to look for, and how to fix it. Any advice is appreciated, thank you.
