I have an automatic 96 civic ex coupe with a d15b engine and stock p2p ecu in it. it runs just fine with the stock p2p ecu. But I just recently bought a chipped p28 ecu (auto converted to manual), the guy says the chip was to activate vtec sooner (4k rpms instead of 5k). Now as stated my car is auto, but the ecu has been converted to a manual. I bought the 2.7k and 4.7k resistor and turned it back to an automatic ecu. It runs my car but the idle is all the way up to 2k - 3k, and it likes to bounce a little. I thought it may be due to the iacv being a 3 prong when the ecu is looking for a 2 prong (so I've been told). I couldn't shift out of park without using the spare key I had, but once I did it shifted into reverse hard! it ran ok in reverse pulling out of my driveway, I threw it into D3 and again it shifted hard, not as bad though, and it drove slow, like there was no power at all, i think it only went up to 2k? id have to play with it again to be sure, but if anyone could tell me some possible ways to fix this that would be great, maybe my soldering job was bad? resistors aren't correct or backwards if that is possible? I'm not sure. I've heard of people using p28 ecus just fine, I was hoping for the same. Any help is appreciated and if more info is needed lmk! thank you!

why not put back the original ECU?
Activating VTEC early does not do much anyways... higher cams are not efficient at lower RPM.

Will an automatic P28 ecu even run an automatic 96-00 civic properly? or does is have to be manual? ive always seen videos of them being slapped on manual 96-00 civics, never have i seen it done to an automatic...
