Driver's side door lock issue

There's a little protective retractable door thingy where you use the key that keeps the weather out of the lock..well somehow it doesn't close anymore. I tried WD-40 and prying it shut, wiggle the spring with a paper clip to get it free but no results. The little door thingy moves freely of the spring but no pressure from the spring behind it .2005 Honda civic LX sedan, kind of old.Any ideas

Spring either popped off, or broke/disintegrated.
get a new lock if it really bothers you. You can rekey it to match the current lock

Here's a screenshot of a new lock cylinder..what I'm wondering is can I pop off the front of the key entry and replace it with one from the junkyard..the broken spring assembly for that little door (weather protection) would I guess have to be attached to it.. without knowing exactly what I can switch out with a used cylinder from a junkyard, I could be throwing my money away..I would rather not re-key the cylinder at a locksmith..just switch the parts that are broken inside.Has anyone had experience in this

Doubt you can salvage it and put it in your lock without destroying it or your lock.
could lube the hell out of your lock and just live with it.

Re: Driver's side door lock issue

Three options:

0. Use remote
1. Switch driver side rear and front lock
2. Get a new lock cylinder and rekey. You don't even need the wafer set, just transfer from old one.

I saturated it with WD-40. Seems like spring is either frozen or broken
