Rep Power: 0 Replacing metal strut across engine bay
Unfortunately not too long ago a deer jumped out in front of my car ruining the front end, all the bumper etc is obviously replaceable but the one part I'm uncertain about is this metal bar that goes across the engine bay(not sure of the proper name). It holds the radiator and stuff and was severely dented. In my amateur opinion as long as I could somehow get one from a scrapyard I could just drill out where it was welded on and bolt it. Have any of you had experience with changing this bar or even know what it's called? Thanks
In the photo its the black bar with the white sticker on it

like you said drill out the spot welds and weld in a different one, either from the junkyard or buy a new one.
if you're in the rust belt probably better to buy a new one, otherwise look for a car that has been rear ended, or doesn't have collision damage
