OBX Strut Problem
Has anyone found a solution to fixing the front strut bar from hitting the washers? I am thinking that I can drill the hole deeper where that screw holds the actual bar in place so the bar will sit lower. Would really appreciate your help!

The reservoir isn't what I am talking about, it is the washers, the things that stick out of the hood and spray fluid on your windshield to clean it. The strut bar pushes those up when you tighten it. When you don't tighten it, you can move it back and forth and you can move it forward enough to where it doesn't hit the sprayers but then the bar isn't 100% effective.
I don't have a strut bar yet but damn, that really sucks that such a problem arises from having an OBX strut. I would figure that they would have tested the strut at least to see if it fits without a problem under the hood of our cars.....
hey pimp, would u say neuspeed strut over dc sports strut? or vice versa?

do you have factory washers or the LED ones?
if it's the LED ones try cutting some of the access off
i've never heard of this problem before

OK I will answer your question....because I had the problem too!!!!!!.......once again here is the DIY..........if your man enough!!!!!!!!or ALLMAN enough!!LOL
The OBX upper strut bar does hit the hood.........it actually just barely nips the hood support bracing and washer clips causing a slight bulge in the hood when you close it..........ONLY SOLUTION and keep the bar is this.......You have to flaten the bar 1/4".....I did it this weekend......since the tower connections have plenty of adjustable threads, you can flatten the bar and still provide proper tower spacing....."NOW" how the hell to flaten.......LOL....."Muscle".....or a specialized break.....which I didn't have....but I had "ALLMAN" muscle......I created a special wood set-up to create fulcrum point and reshaped the bar by flatening it 1/4". The bar is "VERY"...VERY strong.....took all of my might but I finally flattened it...re-polished it....and installed it...and fits perfectly now.......but yeah...they should have tested the thing first.....but let me tell you this.....I'm a 225 bound bodybuilder, and I just gave that bar a true moment(bending) test...........I probably applied somewhere around 500 to 600 foot pounds of torque...and it was a BIAAATCCHH to flaten......so my point is the bar passed the abuse test of loading in my opinion...LOL!
