Hello, I jacked my car up using the welded piece of metal the stand is now on, and put a jack stand on the sub frame (since moved to spot it is on now). I woke up this morning with oil all over the floor, and cannot tell where it came from. Any ideas? The majority of the oil looks like it leaked right where the jack stand was on the sub frame, but the jack stand itself has no oil on it at all. It also doesn't look like typical engine oil, since this car needs an oil change it would be darker used oil... I am at a loss and do not know what is wrong with the car now.
Please help
This morning jack stand was in middle of oil, supporting sub frame. Not sure where oil came from, does not look like dark engine oil
you're gonna have to crawl underneath and try to trace it down. I'd also take a look at any hydraulic system reservoirs to see if anything is showing super low.
when placing on jack stands, forces acting on the car frame changes, possibly something that leaked before was inside the frame rails and came out of a crack when lifted.
My guess is it's brake or clutch fluid when someone changed something at the pedals mount. Or it's coming from brake lines.
but that's a guess. could be something else.
is it braking well? Could be old work
It looks like a 7th gen 01-05 car from the pictures. Same as mine except it's mostly white.

Re: Oil on floor after car on stand overnight..??
What flavor is it?
Antifreeze, brake/clutch, trans, steering, or engine oil, fluid levels are not low?
Recent oil change?
Some engines can collect oil filter dribbles in low or angled areas and brackets, jacking it up can tilt the engine enough to dump those onto the floor
