Restoring my 2001 honda civic LX
So here is the story. I bought a ricer garbage civic from my friend for 900 dollars. I was just starting out in life and wanted to own a cheap manual car but i later realized that it would have been better to find something that wasn't trash. About 400$ later, I have replaced the valve cover gasket, alternator, battery, some fuses, and I am about to replace the rims, strut assemblies, control arm ball join and bushings, tie rods, and sway bar links. The car is currently running fine from what i can tell. The only problems that it is giving me is poor handling and possibly something electrical. When i accelerate over rough surfaces the car often hops or vibrates a little bit. especially when i accelerate around a turn. Another problem that it is also giving me is that sometimes the battery light will flicker. It normally does this when do a short pull or sometimes it just does it when i change gears for a second. The only other thing i was wondering about is this weird sound it makes when i am engine breaking at low speeds. If i accelerate in 1st gear up to about 20 mph and then let off the gas, the front end of the car makes a loud whirring noise. Kind of like scraping but it sounds more like a really loud engine breaking frictiony noise. I was just wondering if someone with more experience than me could give me a tip or two on what i should do to restore my car to stock conditions. And no i am not interested in just selling my car and buying a new one. This is my first project car and i intend to finish this project to perfection. Thankyou for the help

Check your control arm bushings.
and check belt tension, make sure all the alternator bolts are tight otherwise you can fry the ecu

The alternator I bought, ended up being only 36$ from Walmart online. I was able to fix that problem though by replacing my ground wire, as my old wire was half way broken through.

Thankyou for the tip on tightening the alternator bolts. I have no clue how but the top bolt for the alternator was actually not screwed in at all, it was just sitting in it's socket hanging on by the tension of the alternator. All the bolts are tight now though.

UPDATE: I have replaced the strut assemblies, rims, and tires. The car rides so much better than it has ever done before and with the new ground wire, I have not seen any battery light at all yet. What I am focused on now is the multiple noises I hear coming from my engine bay while the car is running. Things like quiet high pitch squeals that come and go when i am idling, to other squeaky noises that i have no clue where they are coming from. None of these noises are really loud though, unless my exhaust is just so loud that they just sound quiet to me. Any suggestions as to what I should do now?
