Cracked engine block 2008 civic
Our 2008 Civic only has 77,000 miles on it and has just recently shown signs of overheating due to a crack in the engine block. We know now that this is a common problem with this generation and there was an extended warranty up to 10 years. Given how little the car was driven early on, this problem developed outside the 10 year mark. The local dealer diagnosed the crack and sent the info in but we were denied Goodwill Assistance in taking care of this repair. Has anyone had any luck appealing directly to the corporate office, the BBB or anyone else to get this repair at least partially covered? Debating whether it’s worth paying $4500-5000 to replace the engine given its low mileage but age of 15 years. It’s in good shape otherwise. Thanks.

Re: Cracked engine block 2008 civic
Honda had already extended warranty once, from 5 years to 10 years.
Now that expired and your car is 14-15 years old...
I don't see how you would get that
when things in my car failed past warranty, well, I just take it, like most people... It lasted a good time.
