Hey everyone
my name is ryan. I own a 2011 Honda Civic sedan. I bought the car with the airbag light on. I scanned the codes and 3 popped up (I’ll attach the photos)
1) E1-11
2) F1-11
3) F3-11
i ended up replacing the drivers side seat airbag and the seatbelt tensioner but the codes keep coming back after I clear them. My question is what else am I missing? Do I need to change the steering wheel airbag too? Do I need Honda to reset something for me? Any help or direction would be greatly appreciated. Thanks
Ryan
not completely sure, but I think Honda will need to reset SRS codes, they have a separate module to control them.
I am not completely sure on this either, but some of the controllers might need replacing after deployment
Ok guys I appreciate all the feedback. So I sent in the srs module and had it reset. All of the previous codes were cleared but two new ones appeared which I will post. Any help is appreciated thanks!

Hey guys
so I changed the passenger side curtain airbag and the seatbelt tensioner which seemed to fix most of the codes. Just one left lol…I checked fuses which were fine. Any idea where the VA line is? Any suggestions are appreciated thanks!

hey man
thanks for the information. I’ve gone through all the steps so I’m not sure where to go from here. “NO - Open in the dashboard wire harness; replace the dashboard wire harness.n”
don’t really wanna replace an entire wiring harness if I don’t have to. Possibly replace the connectors either to the fuse box or srs module?
Could run what's called an overlay. Just replace that single wire.
couldnt get a reading at all. Possibly user error but I had my mechanic there with me and we checked a couple different ways with the multimeter and he said there was no continuity I believe. Yea I was thinking possibly to splice into that one wire at both ends of the connectors and see if that solves the issue? I was also thinking what if the issue is with the connector itself? Should I replace those but that’s quite a bit of wiring at the end of the srs module
Make sure you're getting onto the terminal with your meter. For small terminals I usually use a single strand of copper wire to poke into the terminal, then just touch that with the probe. A paperclip may also work.
If you can confirm the terminals are in good shape, you could try a splice on both ends.

yes I used a couple of sewing needles to make sure I had good contact with the terminals. I think I may try splicing that one wire then
thanks
yes for sure I will update once I try that. Thanks!
update…ok so I spliced in a new wire going from the srs connector from the under dash fuse box to the srs module. Still getting the same code for the VA line. I then proceeded to splice/replace the entire srs connector at the fuse box, still same code. I suppose I could try doing the same thing for the srs module connector and splice In a whole new connector but that’s tons of wiring that may not be necessary. Not sure where to go from here. Any advice is greatly appreciated. Thanks!
