Question Lost resets on radio after battery replacement

Replaced battery in 09 Civic today, now the radio needs some code. Where can I find that so I can reset? THank you in advance.

Radio code to prevent theft. If it's not in your owner's manual/packet somewhere you'll have to look it up online.

Re: Lost resets on radio after battery replacement

I am in the same situation:

I try the above link, the first thing it ask for is the VIN no., I enter the no., it says "Incorrect VIN numbered entered". but I did enter the right VIN

is the above link only for Honda USA? what if the car is in Honda Canada?

I believe you can also call he dealer and they will give it to you. With your vin, I think.

On mine, 2015 I didn't need a code. Just a reset of the presets. I still haven't figured out why that is.

On my 2004 (rip) I had the code in the glove box book, which came with it new.

I know that. The dealer is rude, they won't answer. So I thought Honda has to have a way to fix this, because a dealership can go belly up. honda still have to back its customers

Try a different dealership.

I think Honda hq also has a website or number to call, so you go directly to Honda North America and skip the dealer.

Re: Lost resets on radio after battery replacement

I have tried 2 different code, both failed. I wonder if anyone has radio code for 2010 Civic 4 door.

Re: Lost resets on radio after battery replacement

As to the VIN, you have to put the letters in either upper case, or lower case. I can never remember. You have to try each to see which it is.

As to the code, try doing it a different way. You may not be doing the process right.

As I say, my 2015 works without the code. I have yet to figure that out or hear any explanation.

Makes me think your head unit was replaced at some point in the life of the car. That would explain why using a VIN in the radio code site wouldn't work. You'd have to grab the serial number from the back of the unit.

The VIN shouldn't matter if it's upper or lower case.

"The VIN shouldn't matter if it's upper or lower case".

Shouldn't. Didn't in California, but now I've moved out of California. And where I'm at now, it does.
