replaced 2006 honda civic ex radio with xm now no sound

I replaced 2006 honda civic (EX 1.8L) radio (with xm) that I know was working in my 2006 honda civic EX 1.8L parts car and now no sound out any speaker on any function including an AUX chord out an iphone. When I put the old radio back in everything (except the CD player) works great again.

This question is only for real honda audio gurus. Please no suggestions that the radio speakers are bad or that I have a short in the wiring.

It was supposed to be a straight swap because a plastic part in the CD player was broke and everything else worked great and now after the radio swap no sound out of the speakers.

There is power to everything radio related. AM/FM, CD & XM/AUX but no sound.

The only thing that was different was the four wire harnesses were identical but the female ports on the back of the radio were arranged in a different order.

Thanks in advance!

Did it ask for a radio code?

Yes the radio code is quick and easy if the radio is already installed. All you do is start with the radio off, hold the one and six button down then hit the on button and the radio model will appear, that plus the VIN and you can get the code online. without the VIN you can bring your vehicle to the honda dealer with the vehicle registration and they'll look it up for you. I really think there is something about the rearranged ports on the back of the radio. All the harnesses plug in fine
but in a different order...

Did you verify that none of the wire positions changed? Or did you just plug it in and hope

I didn't verify because I can't find any diagrams or anywhere that discusses the same year having three different backsides. "AM; FM; CD/AUX (without XM)" and then the "AM/FM; CD; XM/AUX" has two variations :/

Do you know if the 2006 Honda Civic EX stock radio kept the same harness configurations but moved their position? that would make more sense...

Does the dash state Premium ?

I thought the Premium used a separate amplifier.
