Returned Car?
Returned Car?
Hows it going guys? I'm trying to figure out if anyone has gotten sick of having problems with thier car and found a way to return it for a different model. I've had my car for over a yr now and its been driving me insane with problems starting about 6 months after I bought it. Everytime I take my car in to get something fixed they don't do the job right and it stays broken. Its really frustrating to deal with, and I almost don't wannt put up with it anymore. I love my car but I hate the problems that come with it. Any help in this area would be greatly appreciated.

dragoon is right. have you had the same problem three times? if they are different problems and the dealership is not doing their job, speak to the service manager. don't let them play you like that. demand
that they fix whatever problem you have and if they don't, get some answers. ask to speak with the general
manager. if they let it get back to him then it's all over, you'll get whatever you want...

I'm pretty sure in most states, the lemon law is only applicable in the first year... But you are correct about the 3 instances...

I believe lemon laws state that if they don't fix the same problem correctly three times, you get a new car.[hr]

I contacted a lemon lawyer, they have called the dealership where I bought my car and notified them of whats going on. I'm taking my car back in on tuesday to try to get the problems fixed again but they are not allowed to touch anything without contacting my lawyer. Its nice because the service is totally free, I'm hoping they can scare honda and they will take care of my problems the right way. I'll keep you guys posted with how it goes.

heres a list of a few....clutch constantly squeaks and clicks, my sunroof leaks and the pan that catches the water has a crack in it so all the water leaks into my head liner and my car smells like a$$, my rear end squeaks and creaks, 2nd gear and 5th gear vibrate like crazy and 5th gear kicks out sometimes. I had this problem before where it kicked out everytime 5th was enguaged and they fixed it, but it feels like its back. the problems with the clutch were never fixed and it was taken back about 4 times, the rear end was in for 3 of those times, and it was in 3 times for the smell. I dont know how much of a case I have here but I would like something done. Even if they fxed the problems I'm having now I would be happy because I love my car but I'm not happy with all the stuff I have to deal with. Do you guys think I may have something going for me?

I'd say as long as you have the documentation (service orders that you signed) from the dealer that shows how many times you've been there and the work they haven't corrected, I'd say you have a strong case. Your problems aren't little squeeks and rattles, you have some issues with the tranny and the sunroof which I think are pretty major. Good Luck.

It's been over a year so no, you can trade it in but thats it.
Having lemoned my 01 LX ..... (I have an 02 EX now)
Most states lemon laws only cover the vehicle for 1yr or 15,000 miles.[hr]

THEN you have to prove that it causes a saftey problem or "Seriously Impacts the Vehicles Trade-In Value"
But like I said your over 1 year so forget it.
Having said that, write Honda of america a letter (write, don't call - make them call you) and fax it on over to them explaining your woes, they will make sure your car is repaired properly and they will "help" the dealer make sure it's done in 1 visit.

its not even so much that I want another car, I just want my car to be fixed. I know each state has thier own lemon laws and I am currently over the mileage for NJ, but because i started having problems at around 6000 miles I am still somehow in there. I was hoping once the lawyers contacted them they would get thier stuff together and fix my car right. If not maybe the lawyers will be able to work something out for me. between my car and insurance I spend alot of money a month and I think I should at least be happy, and if not happy I should be able to drive my car with out feeling nauseus because of the smell. I'll keep you guys posted with what happens, my car is currently at the dealer.
