anyone ever noticed this "Hummmming" sound coming from the driver side of the engine bay(almost like the sound a mosquto makes when it flies by your ear) when your rpm is just under 1000? or 800 sometimes? guy at the dealer tells me it's the electric motor that assist the steering that's making the noise..but I think it's kind of too loud...is this normal? I can make the sound by steering with the car parked...i quess that's when the motor kicks in....but dang..that sound just shouldn't come out of a 3000km car.

here's a little story to share with yall..one week after I got my new civic coupe..my first brand new car...friends(4runners..explorers..pathfinders) ask me to go to this hotspring..east of Pemberton...after the dip..we'll took a differnt route back to Vancouver(along side Lake lil'Looet..then Lake Harrison..then mission)...only that those were rock climbing logging roads with crazy hills and I didn't know.. BIG MISTAKE!!!! but there was no way back...5 hours of rock climbing in my Civic..rally style drifting through corners scrape my bottem countless times(konk!!)..got stuck on hills and then eventually got lost inside the pitch dark mountains(10pm)...if we didn't run into these two reserve natives indians..I wouldn't be here typing..sigh...the car still runs now but it's never the same...(at least inside my head).....I don't think anybody couldn't done what I did....but it was good experiece.

Ouch. I think I would have freaked out if I was up in the mountains at 10pm...alone.

Anyway, i have the same noise...it's normal. Almost sounds like a blow-off valve!
