Power Windows in Civic

Hey guys, I think there's something wrong with my driver side power window. When I'm lowering the window, the first half would be just fine, but the second half would kinda go down real slow, when pulling the window back up, the first half would be real real slow and then it speeds up as the bottom half of the window appears. Is there anything I can do to fix it?

Thanks

That's the great thing about owning a new car........THE WARRANTEE...........just take it back and make the dealer fix it.

It sounds like your window motor is "tired".

Yeah, it only happens on rainy days or when there's water/fog on the window.

That's kinda wierd. I've never heard of anything like that. I do know that if you are trying to roll down both windows at the same time it goes slower than if you were doing it one at a tiem.

it is under warrenty i would just take it in and let them see if it is rubbing better than having one of the motors burn up on u.

Paying for Labour on the work, hell that costs more than the parts most of the time, your getting screwed if you pay for that.

I thought it's written somewhere that any work done under warranty will be of no cost to you. Hence, the definition of warranty.

but seriously .. i know for a fact the the ruber tracks on the inside of the windows pop off cause the window to roll up and down slower.. check the DIY for the front door skin removal and peek in there... youll be able to clearly see if the rubber track is off the metal rail...

ak can only hope to improve
I read a DIY on another site and it said to spray WD40 on the outside of the window...then roll it up and down a few times.

or...you can simply take it to the dealer and b****

Yeah I have had warranty work done and they have never charged me anything even on my moms chevy blazer they never charged us

Yeah WD-40 wouldn't that be bad on tint? Anyone know if silicone spray to keep the rubber soft around your windows is bad for the tint?

Nick

Hey, so what did you do ultimately? Did you take it back and get it fixed? What did they say it was?? I'm having the SAME problem with my window... er.. HAD, when I lived in Seattle and yeah, when it was kinda rainy.. but I don't have a warranty on my 96 Civic.... just wondering what the deal was with yours so maybe I can try to fix it myself. Only fix it FOR GOOD this time
