Are you sure you didn't break a belt? Because we have 2 on our cars. When you said you had no A/C did you mean that it was still blowing out the vents but it was warm or did you mean that the vent fan stopped. Remember that the A/C compressor is down under everything else so make sure the belt isn't missing, if its not missing, reply with a little more info.

Okay if the belts are in place than most likely the compressor locked up and one or 2 things happened, after the compresser locked up it possible you blew the fuse to the compresser clutch which would disingage it, or you had a rapid r-134a (refrigerant) loss which would cause the compressor to freeeze up and the low pressure switch kicked in and disengage the clutch. Have the A/C checked out at a local shop or dealer, but I guess you're not under warrenty anymore so a local shop would be best. A local shop should be able to tell you pretty quickly what went wrong, good luck and let me know how it turns out.

Well the squeeling came from the belt driving the compressor, when the compressor locked up the belt starting slipping around the pulley. The break could have been a A/C line breaking letting all your r-134a excape, a A/C line will make a loud pop when they break under presure, which would cause the commpressor to lock up and the squeeling belt. Unless I could look at it this is just a educated guess, but I think I'm on the right track.

Well you probably wouldn't see the broken line becasue its probably very small, you need to see if the system is still under pressure, if it is than its not a line. A compressor isn't cheap but should be under $500, but before you do anythiing take it to a local shop and have them look at it just to make sure that what the problem is. If you start swapping out parts without the proper tools and know how, you'll just run into more problems. The problem you explained is much more compicated than what can be addressed in this forum.

After you have someone look at it PM me or reply, because I'm curious. Or if you feel like driving up to Tampa I'll look at it for you.

If you are just out of warranty, you can take it to Honda and see if they will fix it under "good will".

Should have bought the extended warranty...mine is warranted for 5 years which is the length of my payments, which is good cause my 36,000 mile one is up soon since I am @ 30,000 now...not to mention the extended warranty boosts the resale value of your car if you keep the documentation and paperwork to prove it...
