Help 2005 Honda Civic Hybrid

Hey guys, new to the forum and just wanted to say hello.

Had an issue that i wanted to put out there, hopefully I'm in the right section.

So I've had my hybrid for a few years now and have begun to notice a grinding gear shifting sound when the car goes from idle to back on when it shuts off on stops. The sound has gotten progressively louder and I'm not really sure what it is?

The car has 130k and is going strong, I'm just not sure what this sound is.

Any assistance would be awesome.

Welcome.

Not ringing a bell with me yet.
Manual trans or CVT?
Have you listened with a stethoscope (while someone else is in the drivers seat) to see where the noise originates?

Exhaust heat shields rusting apart?
