Code 1753 and Flashing "D" Light.
Code 1753 and Flashing "D" Light.
I have a 2001 Ex with automatic. I just finished doing a head gasket replacement. Car started right up but had CEL and code 1753 and flashing "D" light. Found that I forgot to plug in the connector for the solenoid. Plugged it in and cleared the codes. Started it back up to check the head gasket repair and the light came back on. Took plug back off and the socket had a lot of antifreeze water in it from when I pulled the head. Blew it out with compressed air and sprayed with WD-40. Put back together and code still comes on. When I reset it the light immediately comes back on. I had no issues with the trans prior to this. I had it rebuilt about two years ago and has been great. I have the factory manual on cd and will check the wiring hopefully tomorrow. I tried to move the car down the driveway and it shifted very hard and would hardly move in drive. Didn't move it more than three feet. Could I somehow screwed up the PCM? Letting it sit overnight with battery disconnected to maybe reset it better.

Ohm check the solenoid?
Search forum for that code number......with P in front of it

Already searched the forum and have read quite a few posts with this problem. I just think it should be something simple. Maybe I left off a ground somewhere. I will check the wiring hopefully tomorrow. The thing that gives me a little comfort is that the Ford manual says this is strictly an electrical problem and not an internal transmission problem. If the solenoid went bad at least it is easy to get to. Lust hope the PCM is ok. I did disconnect the battery while I did the head.

P1753 is strictly an electrical problem, it cannot be caused by a mechanical issue.
So yeah, it's likely to be related to something you did.
It's right on top of the trans, under some wire bundle, and it's easy to damage it.
Looks like TCC solenoid should test between 12-25 ohms. The rest would be verifying the two wires from the solenoid to ground and solenoid to PCM.

Checked for ground at connector and had good ground. Ohmed the two pins of the solenoid and it read open. Pulled the solenoid and checked again out of the car and coil reads open. Went ahead and applied 12 volts and ground to the two pins and no click. Pretty much confirms the solenoid went bad, Just can't figured out how it happened. Only thing I think of is the connector on the solenoid is a plastic "L" shape. I may have wiggled the connector too much when I disconnected it. If the wires inside the solenoid are tiny, one of them must have broken. Going to the u pull it tomorrow and see if I can snag one.
Re: Code 1753 and Flashing "D" Light.
Replaced TCC solenoid and cured the P1753. Hope everything is good. Will drive for a few days and monitor the water level. Got my fingers crossed. Wife called me at work and said the dryer just stopped heating, I can never catch a break. Lucky I consider myself relatively handy with a tool box. Found the heating element broken on it. Will have that fixed tomorrow if I can get the part. Thanks everybody. I will check back in on the head gasket after I get a few days and miles on it.

I think if my dryer craps out again I'm gonna pull the trigger on a new one.
2 years ago I finally replaced my 1974 Maytag washing machine.
I strolled into the appliance store and asked for a brand new 1974 Maytag.
They didn't have one handy but they did have a refrigerator from what looked like the 50s on the showroom floor, still brand new.
