Rep Power: 110 Cracked Exhaust Manifold.
I just confirmed I had a cracked manifold Friday and was wondering if it is better to get one from a wrecking yard or buy new? Also what would cause it to crack?

I'd junk yard it, just try to find a nice one without major rust.
Exhaust parts must handle a lot of heating and cooling, expansion and compression. Even brand new headers can crack if they are cheap or have a defect.

I checked a yard that has a wrecked 2004 but sadly the manifold and engine was already gone. I found a stainless steel header with cat for $378 with shipping from ProCivic. That way I can upgrade the rest of my exhaust for $300 more. Also quite a few weight saving items that are legal here in Missouri.
