Re: Changing out spark plug gaskets that come with new valve cover gasket kits
Either your car needs a head gasket job and you just called it by the wrong name, or it needs a valve cover gasket and that sealer would be like firing a 90mm anti-tank gun at a squirrel.
If your 01-05 1.7L engine needs a valve cover gasket, you can get one as low as $8 at a parts store that's open on Sunday. Pony up and replace it.
If it's a head gasket, that's not so simple or cheap. It CAN be done somewhat cheap if you are willing to DIY it.
I think I'd rather buy a used car knowing it needs the head gasket job instead of discovering later on that someone poured Liquid Glass in the engine to bandaid a blown head gasket.
About 2 months ago I bought an 07 Fit knowing it needed similar work like this, fixed it all up and gave it to my GF.

so I take it when you say ruining the engine it's because it seals everything ? and I take it once you use it that there is no way to fix it other then to start replacing water pump, heater core radiator ?

now thats funny, I didn't know this was a comedy forum.
anyhow I think it was blue steel, but it was just a thought, I have put so much money into this car that I could have bought a new car.and I am the point where its time to get rid of it.
the # 3 ignition coil was replace and so were the plugs where caked in oil so it could be valve cover also loosin anti freeze could be head gasket, so add that to a ruff body and interior bad spells out time to sell.besides having almost 200000 thousand miles

Put yourself in the potential buyer's place... what if you bought a car that's head gasket is temporarily held together by blue spooge? Can you consciously do that to another person?

We like to have fun here. Don't take it personal.
I would have to agree with him. Don't just that stuff in there to sell it, you are just screwing over the next buyer. Be honest, and sell it as is or fix it properly.

It is not, until members do make it so...
You are expecting us to tell you how to hide your valve cover issue to the next car owner, AKA hide it to sell it...
We can not agree to that... We do buy cars too ourselves and hate that...
you are being more rude than Turd Ferguson, who you reported as "rude". Think about it.

If it's a valve cover gasket, just buy a new one and a thing of RTV. Valve cover gaskets are $8 on Majestic Honda, maybe $15-20 at a dealership. It's relatively cheap when it comes to automotive maintenance, and it's the proper way to do it.
If you're looking to use the Blue Steel whatever to temporarily fix a head gasket so you can offload the problem to an unsuspecting buyer, I cannot condone that, as other members have stated previously.
I apologize that you didn't seem to care for the somewhat comedic responses you've received, but we like to keep responses rather colloquial in this community. Makes it feel a bit more of a community for us regulars as opposed to those that say, "help!" never to be seen again.
Since your question has been answered and you don't like the responses you're receiving, I'm locking this thread. If you wish to have this discussion reopened, you can contact me directly.
