A/C compressor bolt broke

One of the bolts that hold the A/C compressor to the mount snapped off when I was loosening it. Has anybody had this problem and would it be fine if I just put it back on with only 3 bolts?

Re: A/C compressor bolt broke

I'd fix it.

Remove the bracket.

Drill out the broken bolt.
Repair/restore the threads if necessary and replace the bolt.

If you don't have the finesse to drill on center and save the bracket, take it to someone who can.

I did try and drill it out but I was off just a little and if I tap it the hole will not line up and allow the bolt to go in. Do you think there would be a problem with just 3 bolts holding the compressor on?

Re: A/C compressor bolt broke

Leave it with 3 bolts but check periodically if the bolts are holding

I guess it's up to you. Either try it and see what happens or buy another bracket?
